Results were 1 NVA/VC KIA wearing a GI T- shirt, green pants, blue shirt, Ho Chi Minh sandals, carrying a sack with M-16 preventive maintenance booklet, 1 rice knife, 3 notebooks with writing, 1 VN textbook, 1 small bottle of white powder, 25 lbs of rice, 1 NVA canteen. 1 wallet, 1 transistor radio on 130 KHS. Trails were running North-South ....individual was moving South...there was 1 hooch in the area.

From Delta Company at grid 179032 1/2/ Delta Company had a mech detonate resulting in 1 NVA/VC KIA ...he was 20 years old, wearing khaki pants and black skirt, Ho Chi Minh sandals, baseball cap with 22/59 on front, carrying claymore bag with 2 tubes of LSA, 1 recently used cleaning rod, hammock, 2 rolls of plastic, small bag of rice, 1 soup dish, 1 lid of marijuana, trip wire scissors, sewing kit, lighter with chain. Was on SouthWest trail moving West with documents and no weapons. All equipments a documents will be back hauled to Professional.

Found 10 expended AK-47 rounds, small amounts of rice and tools. Fresh footprints running West. Element followed blood trail for 300 meters when it ran out. Trails runs in all directions and well used. Element will MAP area tonight.

Both were wearing black PJ's and had negative weapons and ID, or pack. KIA's were moving west on and East-West trail in the direction of a hooch found earlier. Elment suspects there were additional VC/NVA in area of MAP detonation because KIA's were bandaged. Clothing will be back hauled to LZ Professional .

From 1/3/ Alpha Company DTG 161105, loc 203987. Element had a MAP detonate. Results 4VC/NVA KIA ages; 15, 17, 35, and 35. VC were moving South on North-South trail, They were wearing OD shirts and pants, pink underwear, red "T" shirts and NVA bush hats. They were carrying rucksacks and 2 machetes. They had some notes, a receipt for something, and 20 cans of C's which had been opened and were starting to spoil. Equipment and docu -ments will be back hauled to LZ Professional.

Bodies 1 year old, and appeared to have been killed by gunships, remains of medical supplies, indicate KIA's wore treated khakis, nega -tive ID, documents or weapons, element destroyed hooch, will MAP area.

As far as can be determined there was negative enemy in initial detonation, Will check further at first light.

From Delta Company, 2nd squad 1st platoon. DTG 271235 loc 231003.. Element was moving North on a North-South trail when they hit a booby trap . The bobby trap was a chicom grenade with a trip wire trigger. The wire and grenade were very old. Trip wire was close to ground. Element leader said it seemed to be on old early warning device. They searched the area with negative results.

Returned to NL, will check at first light,obtained negative weapons or documents, could not locate bodies in heavy underbrush due to limited visibility, engaged at 20 meters due South.

Entered LZ from East and was engaged at 25 meters when he tried to evade to the East...VC was 19 years old..

To Bde/Pane: From 1/2/ Delta Company, DTG 281330, location 189016. Found 2 bunkers at above ....Locations, size 6' x 6' x 5', 50 meters apart, bunkers were 2 weeks old with last use 2-3 days ago. They were covered with 2 layers of dirt and logs . At location 189017 found a hooch made of logs and thatched roof 12' x 6' x 8'. There was room for 9 people to sleep, below hooch was a tunnel 5' x 6' x 3'. They found empty boxes which had a medical, cream at one time. There was a trail leading North. Clothes will be back hauled, remainder will be destroyed.

On the lapel of the shirt was a gold star medallion. NVA was moving on a stream SouthEast-NorthWest. He was approx 20 years old. All equipment will be back hauled to LZ Professional.

VC was moving North on a well traveled North-South trail. Results: 1 VC KIA....Negative weapon, pack or ID. VC was wearing green fatigues and no footgear. There were 2 hooches in the area. One year old in poor condition and used in the last 24 hours. There were two tunnels 24' long. hooches and tunnels will be destroyed. Clothing will be back hauled to LZ Professional.

To Bde/Lark: From 3/Charlie Company DTG 301515 at 188096...Element had just found drawing of FSB Professional: point man moved to pull security during search of area. He detonated a 60 mm mortar round with a pressure firing device. Booby Trap was in some rocks. The area appeared to be a meeting place and showed signs of recent use. The drawing of Professional was lost in the blast.

To Bde/Hull: Follow up spot report from Saber 72 (NFI) DTG 310900 at location 226965. At the above location AC team spotted 10 hooches and 3 bunkers. Team also spotted 2 VC/NVA evading to the West-VC evaded into heavy woods and they were unable to engage. Results: 10 hooches destroy -ed, bunkers fragged. Team fired Arty.
