Element engaged with small arms fire at 25 meters, killing one and the other 2 evaded to the South in the brush line...the two evading were carrying heavy packs-possibly weapons but not confirmed. The KIA was wearing khaki shorts and a dark blue shirt.

Spot Report; DTG 282050 loc bunker # 2 reported noise in front of its bunker, and requested illumination flares. Disapproved by S-3, they reported more search light.. moved to location for observation.

291700 D Co at grid BS620515. Found tunnel 2 1/2x3 feet, Tunnel ran into hill 3-4 feet, branches off left & right inside. Found 6 RPG rounds, 1 entrenching tool, 1 gas mask, 1 pot of hot rice, enough to feed 10 people...and 7 RPG charges.
