At 0830 hrs. 11th Brigade Military Police on LZ Dottie reported 2 VN, one male & one female, received minor shrapnel wounds from small arms fire at grid coordinates BS 625864. Individuals were treated at LZ Dottie and released. Wounds were received when US personnel were test firing weapons. Personnel were unidentified or located.

19 June 68 2030

5th Battalion 46th Infantry reports that at 1830 hrs. 3 personnel of the CAP Team # 131 were moving from CAP # 137 at grid BS 614946, to their location grid BS623958. VN civilians report that a woman was shot & killed by members of the 131 CAP Team. Incident occurred South of the river, somewhere between 131 & 137 locations. 131 CAP Team personnel were evacuated to LZ Bayonet and turned over to Military Police.

20 June 68 0830

At 0820 hrs Brigade Recon Aircraft spotted approximately 40 sampans, on the South side of Song Tra Khuc. They were unoccupied between grids squares BS5175 & BS4475. Also, trails in the area showed no signs of activity.

20 June 68 1235

Delta Company's 3rd platoon, at grid coordinates BS491765, captured 4 VCS that were hiding in a tunnel. One attempted to evade and was wounded. The VCS was dusted off. Also in the tunnel they found 3 weapons M-1 rifle serial # 5674534; M-1 carbine, serial # 125671; 1 AK-44 rifle serial # D74863.

Marine CAP Team reported their night and day positions for June 20 & June 21 at 1145 hrs.

20 June 68 1428

LTC Russell, the new Battalion Commander, arrived on LZ Dottie. At 1433 hrs. Col Henderson, Brigade Commander, arrived on LZ Dottie. Met and briefed by LTC Russell, Battalion Commander. Departed 1445 hrs.

 Charlie Company requested a dust off for 1 US w /high fever. Dust off completed at 1840 hrs.

20 June 68 1853

Battalion Surgeon requested a dust off for 1 US w/ high fever. Completed at 1905 hrs.

Charlie Company received mortar fire at grid coordinates BS 495795, resulting in 5 US WHA. Dust off completed at 2319 hrs. Gunships were requested at 2255 hrs. Received approximately 5-6 rounds 82mm fire BS465793 or BS 461768. Fire was returned with organics and Arty.

Delta Company's 3rd platoon requests a dust off for 2 US at grid coordinates BS493753 w/gunshot wounds. One individual was on or returning from radio watch, when he heard movement to his right; not knowing that there were 2 US located to his right, he fired and wounded the 2 US; Dust off was completed at 0215 hrs.

At 0950 hrs. Delta Company's 1st platoon at grid coordinates BS508749, found a chicom 44 rifle w/serial # 1266271 in a spider hole. Also found; 1 NVA uniform, 1 VN protective mask & documents. Apprehended 1 male VCS w/o ID card, and extracted to LZ Dottie for interrogation.

21 June 68 1105

174th Avn Battalion Dolphin 530 reported a missing helicopter from 174th and is believed to be down in grid square BS5070. Area was checked with negative results.

21 June 68 1715

At 1635 hrs. Delta Company's 3rd platoon at grid coordinates BS497755, engaged 2 VC evading and resulting in; 2 VC WIA/CIA. Individuals had documents in their possession and were bearing red stars. Being dusted off to Duc Pho.

At 2015 hrs. Delta Company's 3rd platoon, at grid coordinates BS491752, engaged and KIA 3 VC evading. VC had no weapons and were of military age.

Delta Company sent water party of 6 men to the village  at grid location BS509755. On the way they received 2 grenades (duds). w/negative casualties. Element sent 2 APC's and a squad to check it out. They searched the area and detained 1 VCS at grid BS 509755. Individual was of military age and w/o ID card.

23 June 68 1023

3/E-1 Cav at grid location BS485773, apprehended one male VCS, 30 years old, for questioning. Extracted to LZ Dottie  for interrogation.

At 2320 hrs. LZ Dottie received possible mortar rounds or satchel charges. Negative casualties. Returned Arty and mortar fire on grid coordinates BS639865 &BS645855. Eye witness from Bunker # 2 reported observing high air burst between the TOC & the tracks. 4.2 Tower observed 1 explosion near entry of access road gate. 3 others between TOC and Arty and area.

CAP Team 135 at grid coordinates BS698963, observed unknown number of VC & engaged w/ small arms fire & mortar fire from Swift Boats, resulting in ; 2 VC KIA by CAP Team 135 & 2 VC KIA by Swift Boats; found and destroyed 6 chicom grenades in the possession of the VC.

25 June 68 1225

At 1225 hrs. Alpha Company's 3rd platoon engaged 5 VC that were evading at grid coordinates BS713888; resulting in one VC KIA. Pursuit of other the other 4 VC is negative. VC KIA had no ID/weapons or weapons, and he was a 30 year old male.

25 June 68 1325

Aero Scouts OH-23 helicopter was flying at 100 feet altitude at grid coordinates BS655925, received 2 rounds from a AK-47 and possibly one round from a M-79 or grenade. Reconnoiter the area by fire w/negative results. No hits were received by OH-23 helicopter.

25 June 68 1401

Alpha Company's 3rd platoon, at grid coordinates BS700894, detonated a M16A1 "Bouncing Betty" mine resulting in 2 US KHA,  3 US WHA (3 urgent & 1 priority). Platoon was moving in file formation and was spaced 20 meters apart w/ flak jackets. Moving  across the middle a rice paddy (old NDP) the mine was detonated. Dust off requested at 1404 hrs and completed at 1424 hrs. Medevac helicopter received several rounds of small arms fire from grid location BS700900 on take off.

From Binh Son; CAP Team reports that they spotted 300VC this morning at grid coordinates BS608973 & BS623962. Had BAR's, AK-47's, AK-50's & B40 rocket launchers. Wearing brown, green, & black uniform. Moved into area at 1000 hrs. or 1100 hrs. and loafed around. Arty fired a mission.

Bravo Company requests a dust off for 3 US WHA at grid coordinates BS598835, due to detonation of a M16 AP mine. US evacuated (urgent) were; Dust off completed at 0829 hrs.
