BN remained in Khe Sanh. All CA's delayed one day due to bad weather.

BN 4/3 will conduct CA into assigned AO. Begin patrol and ambush maneuvers.

Routine Dust off reguested for Co D for line # 196 Larque, Alfred for injuries to left leg and knee due to jumping from chopper into old fox hole. Later evacuated to Khe Sanh.

Co A 3rd platoon at grid 770529. Element was moving NL when they came under fire from SAF and grenades from the South 15-20 meters from element.There are 2 US WIA at this time. Element pursued estimated 2-4 NVA to the South and had 2 more US WIA from grenades. Dust off called at 1805 hrs. Element is sweeping and firing Arty at this time. Dust off unable to fly due to bad weather. 3 WIA's critical . BN surgeon is moving to area.

Charlie Company requested dust off of line # 132 Tucker, Robert J. Man had both legs blown off in his own mech. Man dusted off to 18th Surgical Hospital at Quang Tri. Incident occurred at XD 7555 30. Dust-off completed 0955 hrs.

Charlie Company 1st Platoon CA : LZ is hot. Element reports 1 NVA WIA . Location grid at XD910564.

11 Feb 2040
C Co 1st Platoon at XD913562 spotted a NVA 10 feet from the LZ. They opened fire on NVA and he retreated SouthEast into the brush. A patrol went into the brush and found 1 NVA KIA and captured 2 AK-47's, 2 chicoms, helmet belt and uniform.

Charlie Company 1st platoon at grid 919553 spotted 1 NVA ...Engaged with small arms fire with negative results.

A Company 2nd platoon at XD 922533 was engaged with command detonated claymores, chicoms and small arms fire.The rest of A Company moved to assist....Arty and air strikes were employed...Results 2 US KIA and 8 US WIA.

The rest of the company moved to reinforce. Due to the intensity of fire 3 KIA's had to be left on the battlefield: will recover KIA's in the morning.

From E Company Recon at grid 918556 had a man sitting in a tree who was spotted by a Charlie Company returning patrol and thought he was the NVA..he was hit twice in head with small arms fire.

One was wearing a tiger pattern fatigue, and one a US camouflage hat, 4/w red and blue swimsuits. Negative weapons...Request they be extracted. It appears they have been in AO for a couple of days.
