Late entry: Wieczorek, Phillip was extracted From field to Duc Pho. He had a fever of 102.4 with stomach cramps. Mess -age was sent to S1/Vestal to return man to SJH. Wieczorek, Phillip is from A Co 2-2.
From D Co 2-1 line # 120 Kennedy, Andrew J has temp of 103.4, nausea, diarrhea and drowsiness. He was extracted by RS bird to Duc Pho on instruction by LTC Coast.
69th Rangers made contact at grid 512402...resulting in 1 VC KIA and at grid 529397...results 1 VC KIA.
C 3/1 and PF platoon 188 at grid 564730.The PF while moving to ambush site received fire from an ambush of approx 30 VC. PF returned to OP with WIA. The OP received 3 bursts of AK fire from the NE.
Weather to bad to extract company D. If possible we will take them back to Duc Pho.We do not have facilities to keep 2 companies at LZSJH. Co D is out of chow and it is their 17th day in the field.
From D Co to CP: Norman T. Fox has a temp of 101 and is vomiting, has diarrhea, and has weak and sore feet. Will be extracted to SJH .Will be accomplished during emergency resupply of rations to D Co.
From B Co 3-2 PFC Nelson, Anthony A has a twisted knee. It is swollen and he is unable to walk on it...evacuate to SJH.
Co C at time 1045 hrs at grid 541429 found 2 hooches, bunker and papers. Will back haul to SJH.
Co A 1-1 at grid 614467 while on patrol found a 82 mm Chinese mortar. Will blow up mortar round in place.
Co C 1-2 at grid 535427 had a patrol traveling down a N/S trail....threw a grenade in tunnel. They searched it and discovered a female KIA 18 years old.

Nelson, Anthony A. B Co 4/3 was evacuated to Duc Pho.
From C Co 1-3 at grid 546430 had a mech detonate resulting in 1 VC KIA.
From B Co to CP/: Eckert, Don T. and McLamore, Ricky S. of B Co were evacuated to SJH for severe poison ivy and recurring blood poisoning respectively.
Co B 1-2 at grid 574422 came upon two hooches with 2 men in fatigues with helmets.....shots fired 1 VC/NVA KIA.
Co C 2-1 requests a dust off for 5 year old boy with hand wound and a girl 14 years old with leg wounds in both legs, from a M-16 fire.
Co B 3-1 reguests dust off for line #'s 38 and 117 . Line # 38 inner ear bleeding. Line # 117 relapse of malaria.
Co B 1-2 at grid 573421 had a mech detonate 081930. One VC/NVA KIA of military age wearing black pj's.
Co C 2-1 at grid 545416 Fired at military age male wearing black shorts.....results;1 VC / NVA KIA.

Co D 2-2 at grid 626465 spotted one VC /NVA in a light brown uniform that fired 8-10 rounds at the element . ....returned fire 50 rounds w/M-60 with negative results.
C Co 2-3 at 559401 and 547407, 1 VC KIA and CP spotted 15/25 VC in the open.
C Co 2-3 element w/ sniper team No 2 at grid 536431 at 101947 spotted 2 VC ...one w/weapon engaged and wounded man. Sniper pursued second man...results 2 VC KIA.
C Co Sniper team at grid 555401 spotted between 15/25 VC/NVA crossing a river, all had weapons. Arty fired for 2 minutes after initial spotting.
B Co To CP/ Phillips, Loyd T. SGT has a infected boil on his knee.Will be evacuated on resupply bird.
Co B 3-2 at grid 574423 came upon two hooches w/smoking tunnel.They threw in a grenade with result...1 VC female of military age.
Co B 2-2 requests dust off for Glen A. Lewis SGT for blood poisoning.
Co B 3-1 at grid 570422 had a mech detonate, resulting in 1 NVA KIA male approx age 20 years old.
Co B 3-1 at grid 568422 got one NVA KIA in a mech. He was carrying the following items: NVA fatigues, T-shirt, scarf, rain coat, tobacco, wallet, underwear, bug juice, hammock and rice.
Co D 2-2 at grid 623458 spotted 17 VC/NVA w/weapons and were 800 yards away when spotted.They were engaged with Arty.
Co B 1-1 at grid 677423 had 1 mech detonate and heard voices afterward appox 150 meters. Will check at first light.
